Landcare Project

In 2003 Burra Foods, working in conjunction with South Gippsland Landcare Network, established a wetland area at the rear of the Korumburra factory. This community-based project is creating a buffer between the factory and nearby Coalition Creek. This project is fully funded by Burra Foods and commenced in Autumn 2003.

In 2005 (see picture) the trees are becoming established and have transformed the area behind the factory into a haven for local bird life.

Picture Top Right: 2000 trees were planted in this area which has become a haven for water birds.

In July 2005, Korumburra experienced its heaviest snowfall for 30 years, and the landscape around the factory was transformed into a winter wonderland (see pictures).
