Celebrating national work safe month for Burra

06 October 2025
National Safe Work Month each October is Australia’s annual call to prioritise safety in every job, every day. The campaign encourages all workplaces, across every industry and role, to proactively manage risks and foster safer environments.
Week 1: Getting Started

Kick off the month by raising awareness and planning safety-focused activities. Use toolbox talks, SafeTea events, and team meetings to begin conversations on workplace safety.

Week 2: Risk Assessment

Step through risk identification and management. Practical resources help teams discuss both physical and psychosocial hazards and review current WHS (Work Health and Safety) processes.

Week 3: Worker Participation

Encourage workers, WHS officers, and health and safety representatives to collaborate and lead team-based activities. The aim is to get everyone involved in building a safer workspace.

Week 4: Sustaining Action

Wrap up by reflecting on what was learned and setting up ongoing WHS initiatives. Share resources and continue conversations to keep safety top-of-mind beyond October.
