Executive Team
Stewart joined Burra Foods in June 2015 as General Manager Supply Chain and was appointed CEO in January 2020.
Stewart brings strong operations, supply chain and technical experience gained from 25 years in the dairy industry working for Kraft Foods, Mondelez, Bega Cheese and Tatura Milk Industries.
He holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Applied Science and is lives in West Gippsland with his family.
Travis joined Burra Foods in March 2019 and oversees the finance, human resources and information technology and communications divisions of the business.
Travis has more than 20 years of experience in the professional services industry with PwC, focusing on dairy and agriculture. Most recently, he was CFO of Chobani Australia and has held CFO roles with Heritage Seeds and Opel Australia.
He has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Information Management and is based in Melbourne with his family.
Vincent is Burra’s Improvement Manager, based at Korumburra and South Melbourne.
With a strong background in dairy technology, he specialises in food quality and safety management and spent more than 20 years working at Yili, Mengniu and Mengniu Arla.
Vincent and his family have enjoyed living in Australia since he started with Burra in 2016.
Murray joined Burra Foods in 2015 and currently leads the company’s supply chain function.
Murray has significant agribusiness experience, working for nine years at Emerald Grain in various capacities including GM of Strategy and Business Development, GM of Western Region and acting CFO.
Prior to his agribusiness career, Murray worked as a commercial lawyer at law firm Hall & Wilcox and holds a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University.
Murray lives on the Mornington Peninsula with his family.
Dan joined Burra Foods in late 2019, bringing expertise in quality assurance and knowledge of specialised niche production of protein products through to large scale nutritionals.
He has worked across quality, technical and laboratory areas in the dairy industry for 15 years. Raised on a dairy farm at Waikato in the heart of New Zealand’s industry, Dan has knowledge and skills ranging from milking on-farm right through to quality design of new facilities.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science (biology) and moved to Melbourne in 2016 with his family.
Wayne joined Burra Foods in May 2015 as Manager of the Powder/Nutritionals department.
He moved to Australia with his family in 2006 and has 23 years’ experience across a range of production and maintenance roles in both New Zealand and Australia at Fonterra and Tatura Milk Industries.
Wayne was appointed GM Manufacturing of Burra in May 2020. In this role, he is responsible for the production departments, maintenance and manufacturing services.
Milk Supply Team
Peter has more than 25 years in the dairy industry both in manufacturing and as a farmer.
He worked at the Bonlac Foods factory in Drouin during the 1990s while completing a Diploma in Dairy Technology before he took up a role at Murray Goulburn’s Leongatha factory. Following that, he leased an 80-hectare dairy farm at Poowong where he milked 220 cows for eight years.
In 2010, Peter returned to the manufacturing side of the industry when he joined Burra Foods as a production supervisor. He then progressed to Production Manager before moving into the role of Milk Supply Manager which sees him maintain relationships with Burra’s milk supply partners while ensuring required milk volumes are met.
Jamie joined Burra Foods in March 2019 as a Milk Supply Officer.
He has broad experience in the dairy industry, having previously worked as an assistant manager on a 320-cow dairy farm and in milk supply roles with Longwarry Food Park and Parmalat. Jamie enjoys communicating and working with farmers as part of his role.
Jamie lives in Warragul with his family.
Karen started working with Burra Foods in January 2019 after spending 16 years with Landmark processing data from the Korumburra and Koonwarra livestock saleyards.
In her role as Milk Supply Administrator, Karen monitors the milk that comes into the factory from farms. She checks milk quality and reports back to farmers.
Karen lives locally in Korumburra.
Caity joined Burra Foods in December 2017 and works as the Milk Supply Coordinator. This role sees her coordinate all the milk that goes to third-party locations while also coordinating milk swaps.
Prior to starting with Burra, Caity and her husband share farmed on a dairy farm at Drouin South.
They are now based at Strzelecki where they run a small beef operation across 55 hectares.
Sales Team
Des has been with Burra Foods since January 2010 when he took up the role of Business Development Manager associated with the company’s investment in a new spray dryer, commissioned in August 2010.
His position was subsequently converted to Sales Manager and he has extensive experience in international sales and marketing of dairy products – both within Australia and Europe.
Paul joined Burra Foods in 2016 as a Milk Supply Officer, working closely with dairy farmers for nearly three years.
In early 2019, Paul joined the company’s commercial team in the role of Business Manager with responsibility for the management of the bulk liquids business.
Paul grew up on a dairy farm in Gippsland and has maintained an ongoing passion for the industry. He completed a Master of Business Administration and has extensive experience in agricultural sales.
