Burra Foods has today announced a revision to their FY22 Opening Farmgate Milk Price with a $0.20/kg MS increase, taking their Opening Price Range to $6.60 – $7.00/kg milk solids.

Since announcing their Opening Milk Price Range on 13 May 2021, Burra Foods has watched many of the other processors announce and adjust their opening milk prices. “After reviewing our competitive position, we have decided to increase our Opening Milk Price for Milk Supply Partners,” said Stewart Carson, Burra Foods Chief Executive Officer.

In a letter to Milk Supply Partners, Mr Carson addressed concerns with the lack of accountability on processors publishing Average Weighted Prices which are significantly higher than those achievable on the average Gippsland farm. “Burra has and will continue to publish a realistic price range to remain open, honest and transparent with our Milk Supply Partners,” he said. “Over 90% of our Burra Milk Supply Partners are +/- $0.20/kg milk solids from our mid-point.”

It’s been a challenging time over the past 48 hours of extreme weather, leading to power outages, property damage and floods. We’re very grateful to emergency service workers and those who are supporting each other during these tough times across Gippsland.
